Licensed Vocational Nurse Program Requirements

Admissions Criteria:

  • Be at least 17 years of age, but will be 18 years old by graduation
    (Please note:  Some clinical facilities require students to be 18 years old for externships)
  • Official high school transcripts from a valid high school or high school equivalency certificate
  • Two forms of government issued identification
  • Healthcare experience (volunteer/work/education) recommended
  • Complete the vocational nurse application
  • Resume
  • Complete the *Test for Adult Basic Education with a 12th grade reading level and a 11th grade math level
  • Complete the Essential Academic Skills test/ATI-TEAS with a minimum score of 55
    (Students have two opportunities to pass the TABE and ATI-TEAS.  The second attempt of
    the ATI-TEAS is the student’s responsibility.)
  • Pass the panel interview 
  • Complete a 30-minute admissions essay
  • Obtainment of a Basic Life Support (BLS) card recommended
  • Points given for military experience

Admissions Selection is based on a point system
